How do I use this site?
This site enables you to build several different designs using LEGO bricks and pieces. You must have the software in order to program the robot that you build using our instructions.
Where can I buy the kit?
In our store www.yantrarobotics.com/shop/
Do I HAVE to buy the kit?
Absolutely not! You may build the designs using your own LEGO bricks. However all of our designs are robots which means that they need a motor, the USB hub and the software in order to be programmed and work.
What do you mean by "Specialty Pack" ?
Some of the pieces in the LEGO WeDo® kit are not available in the retail LEGO ® stores – they are from their TECHNIC® range of bricks. Those pieces are available on our site in the category Specialty Packs.
Why do I need the software?
Our designs are robot designs – which means they have some sort of electrical and/or mechanical functionality to them. The WeDo® software programs those parts that are used to provide the movement – viz the motor and the sensors. The software communicates through the LEGO WeDO USB Hub®.
Are the kits and software available at a LEGO® store?
Please check your local LEGO store to learn more regarding the availability of the LEGO WeDo kit and software at that location.
How will my student learn from the design?
Each design has a primary focus that teaches students one of the several foundations of simple machines. Each robot has a link with information on it’s focus along with a brief description of the robot itself.
We have so many LEGOS® at home already! Can't we just use those?
Sure! Use our Bricks and Parts guide available on our Resources page to learn how to substitute!
How do we program the robot?
Install the software onto your computer and then follow the instructions at the end of the robot design to create your program. Plug in the USB Hub into your computer and you are done! Use the Teacher’s Guide that comes with the software for any help regarding installation.
There is an error in the design!
Oops! Sorry! Please send us feedback through our Contact Us page so that we may fix it ASAP!
What kind of computer do I need to run the software?
Nothing special – any regular Windows or Mac computer can be used. Note: A Chromebook CANNOT be used to install the software because Chromebook are unable to install third party softwares.
